Manoa Falls on Oahu is pure magic.
I first visited this fairytale land the same day right after the ominous bomb threat that shook up our entire paradise a few months ago. My boyfriend and I had decided to be thankful for beauty and for life, so we wanted to go outside and be in the glorious nature. And oh my, we found what we were searching for. It was literally one of the most mystical places I'd ever seen. I knew as soon as I gazed upon the valley of the Africa trees that looked like the Land Before Time, I had to plan a shoot there.
Kelly was the perfect little long haired open-minded soul to complement such a majestic landscape. We planned our shoot for late in the afternoon, wanting those precious golden rays to grace a backlit glow upon our leafy jungle scene.
For looks, we shot 2 of her lovely bikinis from Tobi, the Pretty Thoughts White Off The Shoulder and the Mutual Attraction Top in Black, which balanced nicely with all of the lush greenery. Then we finished the shoot with the Billabong Easy Daze Monokini + Felt Boater Hat supplied from Urban Outfitters Hawaii.
This was one of the fastest shoots I'd done in a long time, but it doesn't take much to create magic when you're completely surrounded by it. The rain only sprinkled down upon us enough to capture perfectly in a few stills, and remind us about the harmony and process that keep this serene ecosystem thriving.
